Writing Sample – Score of 6

Hamlet says, Frailty, thy name is woman!” I say “Hamlet seems not to have understood real womanhood!” Two women from my life spring to mind to aid support my point.

First, there clearly was my mother. I cannot think of a finer mother, though, of course, i will be biased. When one thinks of a mother, a paternalfather is usually not far behind. Unfortunately for my children, my father’s frailty was wasn’t physical. My mother, Gwen is her name, divorced my father after 20 years of marriage. I, the youngest of two, was twelve at the time. For twenty years but also to complete the raising of her twelve year old daughter though it was an extremely difficult decision to make, my mother found the strength to not only leave the man that had been supporting her. I did not talk to my dad after the divorce because he never came around, which certainly suggests the lack of character that lead to my mother’s decision. Regardless of the hardship, my mother made certain I had everything she could reasonably provide, best of which was her unqualified love.

The second woman to support my case is part of my current life. Her name is Johanna. Johanna is thirty-one years old. She divorced the paternalfather of her daughter when her daughter was a baby. She then raised this daughter into the chronilogical age of seven, with very few visits from the child’s father. Meanwhile the father had remarried and started a new family. Round the age of seven, Johanna’s daughter began tantrums that are having were well beyond the typical for a child that age. Johanna looked for answers until one seemed obvious: though everything had be provided for the child, she missed her father. So Johanna made arrangements to possess her daughter live part time with her dad, therefore the tantrums ceased almost immediately. I am certain that has been an extremely decision that is hard the one that only a remarkably strong woman might make.

In the cases of the two women, the strength and courage they showed certainly claim that Shakespeare’s character was a lot more than just a little short sighted.

Following is an example of a writing test that could require a minumum of one semester of Developmental Education work. Please be aware description of a placement test score of 3 from the test description page and also the annotation for the sample below:

Community College of Philadelphia should provide free day care for children of single and working parents.

Sitters are to error that is(usage expensive unless you’re on some type of welfare assistence (misspelling) .

If there was more daycare that is freecomma missing) than i believe many others parents would attend Community to farther (usage error) there (usage error) education. Then better jobs might be found. (not enough specific development)

Actually, I don’t know of you aren’t this problem now (comma missing) but i know a lot of senior school students with this problem and it doesnt (contraction error) help. Plenty of them (inappropriate pronoun use) are intending to drop out as a result (wordiness) for this. My senior high school had an application like the day that is free mentioned in the subject and due to cutbacks they no more have the service. This forces lots of young girls away from school. Plus they never return. (This paragraph will not address the main topic of daycare at Community College of Philadelphia)

If there is no program of day care in senior high school, how will they (lack of specific antecedent) ever think of college when they can not finish twelfth grade without a day care program or anyone to take chare(misspelling) of their child? (Again, point is topic that is off As a result I think Community should offer a free day care program to virtually any of the students. (In addition to grammar, usage, and focus errors, this essay will not provide enough concrete detail to support its thesis.)
